shared status
When the same lesson is contained in more than one course, the ability to apply credit for completing it to all instances in which it appears. This prevents a student from having to complete a lesson more than once.
search term
A word, phrase, or other string of characters to be searched for.
section (ILT)
A specific, scheduled instructor-led course or lesson. An ILT course assignment requires the student to be assigned to a course section (and its individual lesson sections) in order to receive credit for the lessons and course.
selector
A special window in the system administrator module that displays students, courses, or lessons for you to drag and drop onto the navigation tree.
session
The period during which a lesson is being displayed to a student. A session begins when the student launches the lesson and ends when he/she exits the lesson. During this time, there is an active communication link between the lesson and WBT Manager.
Sharable Content Object
The SCORM equivalent to the WBT Manager lesson. It is the unit of learning that is launched and tracked by the management system.
student hierarchy element
An individual entry under the main Students node. Student hierarchy elements include corporations, regions, divisions, organizations, and departments (or equivalent names per your configuration). Although individual students are also elements in the student hierarchy, their role is quite different from the other elements. Therefore, they are always referred to as students and are not included in the term "student hierarchy element."
The term may sometimes be shortened to "hierarchy element" when it is clear from the context that it applies to the student hierarchy.
student hierarchy level
A generic term for any of the five possible organizational levels located under the main Students node. The term does not include the individual student level. The term may sometimes be shortened to "hierarchy level" when it is clear from the context that it applies to the student hierarchy.
The term frequently appears in brackets to provide a generic way to refer to labels that have the same meaning at any level, but that actually display the appropriate level name within WBT Manager. For example, the label of the first field on a student hierarchy element Info tab will read "Corporation name" if a corporation is selected, "Region name" if a region is selected, etc. The manual and help files refer to this field as [Student Hierarchy Level] name.
system administrator
An administrator that has access to all capabilities and functions of WBT Manager.
target audience
A category outside the student hierarchy to which students can be assigned. It can be based on any desired criteria, such as job description, experience level, or languages spoken. Courses can be defined to allow only students in specific target audiences to enroll.
training category
A category that contains one or more WBT Manager courses. Training categories are used to help logically organize courses.
tree view
A hierarchy display that uses indentation to indicate the relationships between elements. Tree views are typically dynamic, allowing nodes to be "expanded" or "collapsed" to reveal or hide the elements beneath them.
